Each controller operates with 2 AAA batteries and features a MODE button allowing you to switch from 6-button to 3-button mode. This function is particularly useful with certain older Mega Drive games that may have compatibility issues with 6-button controllers.
The receiver also has a selector to limit reception to the signal of a single controller.
As the technology used is based on infrared, the controllers must be aimed at the receiver with a relatively clear line of sight. The presence of an obstacle or poor positioning can lead to connection losses.
